Why choose Hardwood shutters?
Our wooden shutters are made from the finest quality, solid hardwood, stronger than MDF or other softwood.
Our hardwood shutters are:
- Made from sustainably sourced timber
- Ideal for large windows and doors
- Crafted to the nearest millimetre
- Finished to the highest standards
Our hardwood shutters are crafted from basswood – a durable, high-quality hardwood originating from linden trees. This fast-growing timber is sustainable, lightweight and durable, making it the perfect choice for shutters. Basswood is one of our most popular hardwoods available.
Are hardwood shutters suitable for my windows?
Hardwood shutters are suitable for all windows. Due to its strong and lightweight composition, we recommend hardwood for large windows or windows requiring less support than other materials in our range. Hardwood is also perfect for customers that prefer a more natural product.
What quality should I expect?
Our hardwood shutters are 100% natural wood, including the louvres. Our wood is stored for six months to allow it to settle before being kiln dried twice in a high-tech, computer-controlled drying facility before being crafted. The shutters are finished with a high-quality, proprietary paint system which has been developed specifically for finishing our shutters. We use a minimum of six coats of either paint or stain to ensure that our shutters are not susceptible to colour fading or discolouration.
