Why choose Hybrid shutters?
An engineered, multi-material option created to look just as elegant and stylish as any other material in our range.
Hybrid shutters are:
- Available in custom colours
- Extremely hard-wearing and lightweight
- High quality, with a finish equal to hardwood shutters
- Produced from sustainable materials
Our Hybrid range is a hardwearing alternative to hardwood. The stile and rails are engineered from MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and the louvres are ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). This combination makes a hardwearing, lightweight shutter making it ideal for wider windows, eliminating risk of warping, twisting or sagging over time.
Are hybrid shutters suitable for my windows?
We typically recommend our hybrid shutters if panels exceed the width limitations (75cm) of our craftwood/MDF material. Hybrid shutters withstand general wear and tear better than hardwood, making this a practical option for high-traffic areas that may be prone to bumps or scratches. We also recommend this material for windows or doors that may be prone to extreme variations in temperature.
What quality should I expect?
The finish of our hybrid shutters is almost indistinguishable from the more expensive materials in our range. It is painted so the two materials blend perfectly together to resemble the finish of a painted hardwood shutter. Like all materials in our range, our hybrid shutters come with a standard 7 year warranty and state-of-the-art engineering is used in production so you can be sure they are built to last.
